Wrapped in Warmth: Stories from Our One Child, One Coat Campaign
Our “One Child, One Coat” campaign was made possible by your generosity and support. Thanks to this collective effort, we were able to provide 200 coats to children in need. Behind every coat is a story, and during this campaign, we met many children whose resilience continues to inspire us.
Here are just a few of the stories we encountered along the way:
Judy is a 12-year-old girl who returned to school after a six-year interruption through UNICEF’s accelerated curriculum, which combines two academic years into one to help children catch up on lost learning. She lives in difficult circumstances after her father was injured in the war.
Ghazal is a 4-year-old girl living with a serious health condition. Her family was devastated to learn that one of her kidneys does not function, and the cost of treatment is far beyond their means.
Tim is a 12-year-old boy who lost his sister in a bombing by former regime forces. He also suffers from severe psychological trauma following the earthquake that struck Aleppo in 2023.
Atta is an 8-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a doctor one day so he can help the poor, especially those in his neighborhood.
Izdihar is a 12-year-old girl who hopes to become a lawyer in the future to defend the oppressed and the vulnerable.
These children remind us why this work matters. Thank you for standing with us and for helping bring warmth, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.
