JCI ALEPPO Script Project

The Script Conference was launched as the first conference of its kind in the Syrian city of Aleppo, marking a milestone in the region’s digital content creation scene. The conference attracted 380 content creators and influencers from Syria and several Arab countries, creating a rich environment for exchanging experiences and mutual learning. This important event was held under the patronage and organization of the Syrian Ministry of Information in cooperation with Junior Chamber International (JCI), giving it an official and professional character. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Information and the Governor of Aleppo, confirming the importance placed on this event by official bodies.

Aleppo was specifically chosen to host this conference with the aim of highlighting a different side to the city, which has suffered for years from the ravages of war and destruction, and presenting it as a regional center for digital creativity and content creation. The old electricity company buildings in the al-Jamiliyah neighborhood hosted the conference, adding a symbolic dimension that combines the city’s rich heritage with its aspirations for a digital future.

The main objectives of the conference were:

  • Promoting positive and purposeful content in the Arab digital landscape.
  • Investing digital energies to promote vital sectors in Syria.
  • Transforming digital influence into a force supporting sustainable development.
  • Establishing professional and ethical controls for digital content production.
  • Establishing Syria as a regional center for digital media and content production.

The main themes and topics of the conference:

The conference featured 12 specialized themes covering the technical, creative, and ethical aspects of content production. These themes were presented by specialists and experts in the digital field, some of them:

  • Making a difference in content production: Innovative techniques and methods for producing distinctive content.
  • Using algorithms and artificial intelligence: How to leverage modern technologies in content development.
  • Using cameras and visual technologies: Improving the visual aspects of content.
  • Digital Ethics and Identity Creation: Building an Ethical and Influential Digital Identity.
  • The Impact of Content Creators on Humanitarian Action: The Role of Influencers in Supporting Humanitarian and Development Issues.

The conference also dedicated a special space to discuss the impact of content creators on humanitarian action, reflecting the growing interest in the role of influencers in positive social change. At the conclusion of the conference, a digital creativity competition and the Content Creators Charter were scheduled to be announced, the first document of its kind defining professional and ethical standards for this industry in the Arab context.

Junior Chamber International (JCI): The organizing body

JCI Syria is part of the global JCI network, founded in 2004 under the auspices of the International Chamber of Commerce of Syria. It is a leading platform for empowering Syrian youth and promoting volunteerism and active citizenship.
